At ArtEZ's MA Critical Fashion Practices, emerging thinkers of the ‘Generation 31’ explored the interconnectedness of diverse fashion systems.

Tjerre Lucas Bijker:

Subverting the Straight—Line

With the graduates, we planned out a
visual exploration of their perspectives that was based on their research and my prior photographic work.

We identified metaphors, performative actions, and environments to render their research tangible.

I then integrated these elements into a visual plan.

Unoriginal Strategies

Next to a studio shoot, we invaded Arnhem at night and used the city as our stage.

Malù van der Bijl: Rewilding Fashion

The graphic design of the promotional material and the exhibition relied on black as the base colour. The photographs needed to pop with contrast.

Leah Gaynor: In-Store Merchandise

The process relied on my understanding of
non-verbal communication and
the toolbox of staging.
