*Kuntenserven Incorporated is a comradely publishing platform dedicated to queer subjectivity.
Tjerre Lucas Bijker and Chet Julius Bugter approached me to make a photo series that would be given life through the following ideals:
- PROMOTING the SUBVERSIVE nature of queerness
- FILTH as a multifaceted carnal embodiment
- Handmade aspect
My work was to react to their manifesto, even to expand its boundaries.
As I was producing the photo series, Kuntenserven were given clues about my queer ideals and artistic process. In a later phase, they reacted to my photographs with their writing as a full-circle research method.

Using myself as the model,
I activated a sensorial
alter ego whose
fetish material are
substances.
I engaged in a step by step
process of discovery, from the bathroom into various landscapes.

I rejected the commercial notion of a gay fetish that can be bought in a sex shop. I made it my own, fluid, adventurous, as well as meditative.
Gradually, my character grew a cinematic look, suggesting some kind of mystery (a back story) and something that is about to happen or could be at stake.
By exploring alter egos, I released pieces of my true identity. Through making it all physical I made my inner demons visible.
