Intergalactic
Pollinators
Performance film for
Tatjana Macić at the
Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
I filmed this performance as a
personal encounter.
The camera
follows
the visitors–protagonists through the spaces of the iconic museum, revealing
human interaction.
The
editing employs a
circular structure
which corresponds to the circular nature of the performance.
– What is a museum?
– For whom is a museum?
– By whom is a museum?
After witnessing a group ritual, visitors to the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam were gently conveyed through the portal (the escalator) and then guided through the exhibition space.
Artist Tatjana Macić interprets the museum's collection as an ecosystem of artworks. To enhance its biodiversity, she introduced performers who cross-pollinate ideas about art.
Intergalactic Pollinators was performed by the students of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) just before the COVID-19 lockdown, making the work a testament to physical connections we temporarily lost.
