Iztok Klančar

Born in 1980, Trbovlje, Slovenia
; based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Our times are that of buying and assembling lifestyles. Everything we are, we owe to commerce, whether it is clothing, housing, jobs or entertainment. Observing people around me, I notice we all have a void to deal with, but not the sufficient means.

I am a story teller, working with video, photography and text.

My engine to produce images is my inner core. I aim to put subversive thoughts in a social perspective and utilise them as something progressive. In my work I am interested in our intrinsic sexuality and aggression. Channeling these two has always been heavily conformed. I believe this control disables us to get confronted with our innermost drifts.
